As Sam Smith reports today, there are two new studies that give truth to the idea that American wealth disparity is reaching abysmal levels.

These statistics also suggest what we already know: the triumphalistic mania over low unemployment numbers means very little when the jobs SUCK.

-- Change in income over past 20 years for middle 5th: up 5%
-- Change in income over past 20 years for top 5th: up 33%
-- Change in income over past 20 years for top 5 percent: up 51%
