The Many Faces of Cheese

.....

When I was a student at Georgia Tech, we used to take road trips. Inevitably, someone would bring along Cheese Nips, because as the box said, they are perfect any time... with lunch... as an afternoon snack... or right out of the box!

Sadly, there are no recipes for Cheese Nips at this time.

Occasionally, I have had to purchase Cheez-It instead, whether because the local vending machine didn't stock the cheesy cracker of choice, or just blind stupidity on my part. Cheez-It are not good; they're greasy, and the Cheeze flavor rubs off on your hands. Sometimes that's ok, as with Cheetos and Doritos, but not so with the It family.

But then I remember them from my childhood, the gold standard in cheesy crackers, Pepperidge Farms' Goldfish. These little beauties are the absolute best in cheesy crackers. Now there are many other flavors, but I love the cheddar best. For some reason, Pepperidge Farms have decided to imprint little smiles on the Goldfish; but not all of them. A recent package I bought had about 25% smiles.

Goldfish are so popular, Pepperidge Farms has an additional website to support them.

Wow.
