Your humble author has been mighty slow in the article production department for a bit. But I assure you that I've not been entirely slacking. No, I have been diligently adding stuff that will enhance the entire MonkeyFist experience.

Today, we unveil the first fruits of my programstination: The MonkeyFist Daily Churn, a weblog of sorts.

"A weblog?!??", you may well gasp, "I thought MonkeyFist was a weblog."

Well, you were wrong. Well, you disagree with me (and that's deeply, horribly wrong, so stop it!), as I never thought of it as such. Hmmphf!

(What a weblog is, and what they're good for is a matter of some theoretical interest. I hope to take up that topic on a new MonkeyFist site, to be launched whenever I get my act together, devoted to WebTheory.)

All digressions aside, it so happens that several of the MonkeyFist Authoritarian Cabal spend much too much of their lives on the #mf IRC channel. There we post links, discuss issues, berate lameness everywhere, and even discuss article ideas. Indeed, I noticed that several of our better articles were essentially tarted up IRC discussions, but that a good bit of the good stuff was flowing off the top of my terminal.

I was also struck by the stark difference in being able to write something sensible and interesting, and being able to produce a polished article. The former is much easier.

Thus, the DiaWebLogBot was conceived, shortly thereafter born, and then immediately punned by Kendall. It's current output shows up on the Daily Churn, which is updated whenever someone remembers to CHURN it.

Thus, my dear, long-suffering readers, we shall discover if I am capable of generating anything more than nothing and less than extremely-macro-content. Feel free to come join us on irc (at monkeyfist.com:6667) in #mf and you, too, can be a grand participant in our DiaWebLog.

The DiaWebLogBot is written in my favorite system, Squeak and I shall be releasing the source as soon as it is somewhat less disgusting.
