I just saw in the sidebar on Wired News that Ellery Chun
has, at age 91, gone to join the big luau in the sky. Before
reading this I didn't know that the creation of the Hawaiian
shirt (or "Aloha Shirt" as he first named it) could be
credited to just one person.
If there's an afterlife that rewards good deeds, then the
number of smiles brought to earth by these outrageously
colorful shirts pretty much guarantees that there will be a
beach, a beautiful sunset, some nice music, and a really big
drink in a coconut waiting for him on the other side.
