When I was studying art history at University of Houston I was under the spell of a view of modern art that this book helped to destroy. Lord's book examines the process of sitting for a portrait for one of the great painters and sculptors of the 20th century, Alberto Giacometti.

If you want to get an inside view of what the artistic process is like for a genius painter, read this book. Highly recommended.
