There's been a lot of talk recently about ethics and integrity in new media, most of it terribly confused, uninformed and incoherent. Obviously everyone has a right to their opinion, but that's no guarantee that their opinion makes a damn bit of sense.

Good resources about journalism and ethics abound on the Web, and some of the best one are

• Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, which includes: "Seek Truth and Report It," "Minimize Harm," "Act Independently," and "Be Accountable"
• a collection of journalism ethics from most of the European countries, translated into English
• "Journalism Ethics and New Media"
• "Online Journalists Face New Ethical Dilemmas: Report from The Netherlands"
• journalism ethics bibliography
