One opens one's drawer expecting to find a large supply of clean socks -- but there are none. One realizes that the memory of clean socks is left over from a dream, in which the drawer contained socks one does not even own.
One wishes to quote a passage from a book, but cannot find it. One combs the book from cover to cover without finding the passage. A later survey of the author's collected works yields a reference to the passage, but not the passage itself.
A placed EPS file does not show up on one's screen. As it does not appear in the links manager either, one places it again and prints the file -- whereupon the graphic prints twice.
Professional wrestling is most perplexing.
