One point the tissue banks repeatedly make is that if people
knew there was profit, they wouldn't donate; or that informing
bereaved relatives that there would be profits would
"complicate the consent process."
Look, when I said I wanted to donate my organs, I meant it as
a charitable gift to someone who needs the organs I'm not
using any more. But for some corporation to grind
up my bones and sell the resultant bone putty
for $853 for 2 teaspoons, that just makes me ill.
