The Washington Post has an excellent special section on line about the World Bank-IMF protests. The coverage Friday included an an online discussion with Mark Weisbrot, a prominent economist and globalization critic.
There was also a story about those silly people at PETA (exactly how do they expect cows to feed themselves if animal agriculture is abolished?), dumping manure near the World Bank meeting. The background graf on the protests:
This morning's arrests bring to 17 the total protesters arrested during a week of mostly peaceful demonstrations.
Not exactly a police riot so far, nor a propaganda-fest by the tools of the system. But I guess we'll see what happens Sunday.
