Briefcases in a paperless world

.....

I have a briefcase that I've carried since the summer between my two years of graduate school (that's about 9 years for those of you keeping score at home). It's a messenger-bag style Eddie Bauer thing, full of zippers and pockets and clasps. But now it's starting to get worn. I need to think about replacing it soon.

My question is, what replaces the traditional briefcase in the information age? I don't carry around folders full of papers very much. In fact, besides my calendar and address book (yes, they're still on paper, no PalmPilot for me!) the only papers I really carry these days are bank statements and credit card bills. I could easily make do with a much smaller case. So what should I get?

Suggestions welcome at niel@bornstein.atlanta.ga.us.
