Protests over the Diallo case outside the Justice Department yesterday.
Clenching wallets in upheld fists, about 3,000 mostly black demonstrators led by Diallo's parents and sister circled the nation's highest law enforcement authority chanting; "Police training 101; it's a wallet not a gun".

Raised wallets served as symbols of frustration with the killing. The crowd was urged to keep their money in their wallets to wield economic power through boycotts.
