Recipe for a Successful Linux User Group

.....

I've known Rick Moen since he sent some very thoughtful suggestions for my Linux User Group HOWTO in 1997 (wow, it may have been 1996 even).

Rick's written a new essay called "Recipe for a Successful Linux User Group" which is about the only thing I've read about LUGs that's halfway decent. Most of the LUG stuff at Linux.com is pretty terrible. Rick's new essay is smart and literate and worth reading. Hopefully the LUG people at Linux.com (don't get me started) will have the sense to publish Rick's essay there.

Highly recommended.
