Say what you will about the quality of the reportage on
National Public Radio, their production values are top-notch.
Among the things that make All Things Considered a joy
to listen to are the "buttons", those little snippets of music
that fill out a time segment or punch a point after a story.
Now Bob Boilen and Bill Deputy have produced a web-only
program of nothing but the music from which their buttons are
culled. So far, the format is still undecided, and it has not
been advertised on the air. But it's an intriguing idea, and
the first foray for NPR into a web-only format.
