Python Programming on Win 32

Maybe it's first-love-itis, but I really like Python, the first programming language I ever learned well enough to use successfully. Some OOP purists don't find it pure enough, and I suppose they have a point. But Python seems to do so many things right that, on balance, I think it's a really great tool.

Windows, on the other hand, does so many things wrong, that the mere threat of having to use it will ruin my day. Having to program on Win 32 sounds like sheer terror. But there is a good port of Python on Windows, so I've often thought that if I had to program on Windows, at least I could use Python and avoid the blecherous Visual Basic.

Mark Hammond's new book may be just the thing I'm looking for. It may make the prospect of programming on Win 32 tolerable. If it can do that, it will be worthy of high praise. Heck, if it can do that, I may have to wash Mark Hammond's car for a month!
