Aviation Woes Continue Down Under

Just when owners might think nothing more could happen ... the decontamination procedure, which is basically to flush all the fuel-system components with tap water, is affecting test results and causing more contamination. It could also be voiding insurance policies. Charles Pratten, the managing director of Avsure, Australia's second largest aviation insurer, tells AVweb he is getting numerous calls from engineers wanting indemnity for damage that may occur when flushing fuel systems with water. His response? "No way!"

Meanwhile, Mobil is asking beneficiaries of its hardship fund to waive rights to legal action, while the pilot and owners association continues to press its class-action lawsuit.
